After this period, brush carefully around the surgical area.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gentle rinses:<\/strong> After 24 hours, you can start rinsing gently with a salt water solution (one teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water). Do this several times a day, especially after eating.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avoid commercial rinses:<\/strong> Do not use commercial mouthwashes unless instructed by your dentist, as they can irritate the operated area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>6. Warning signs<\/h3>\n<p>It is important that you know how to identify possible complications so that you can act quickly:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Excessive bleeding:<\/strong> If bleeding persists after 24 hours or is very heavy, contact your dentist immediately.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Severe pain:<\/strong> If the pain does not improve with the recommended painkillers or gets worse, you need to report it to your dentist.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Severe swelling:<\/strong> Swelling that continues to increase after 48 hours may be a sign of infection.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fever:<\/strong> Fever is a sign of infection and should be treated immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>8. Post-operative review<\/h3>\n<p>Your dentist will probably schedule you for a post-operative check-up.
